3 Doors Down

“Thank you so much my friends. We are indeed here tonight to celebrate 20 years of Away From The Sun.” Iconic rock band 3 Doors Down took to the stage in Indianapolis, and reminded the crowd what rock n’ roll is all about. Their multi-platinum album, Away From The Sun, was celebrated in all its glory with those oh so familiar guitar riffs and lyrics stored in everyone’s long term memory. The band members hit the ground running with their top hits, and concert goers soaked up each moment as they relived the good old days.

Chet Roberts [guitar] took center stage to shred his solo during ‘When I’m Gone’ as Brad Arnold [lead vocalist, frontman] followed up with extra raspy vocals for the last chorus. Several attendees raised their beers into the air with approval. Dark orange lighting set the scene for the title track ‘Away From The Sun,’ and provided a comforting vibe despite the desolate lyrics. A couple was slow dancing to the first verse of ‘The Road I’m On’ to make for a heartwarming moment they will remember for years to come. “You’ve always been loved, and you will always be loved,” expressed Brad as he introduced ‘Here Without You.’ Phone flashlights flooded the amphitheater, and the performance created an energy that unified concert goers with nostalgia at the core. The crowd drowned out the instrumentals as they intensely sang the chorus of ‘Be Like That,’ and the band members thrived off of the enthusiasm.

The crowd did not stop there, and went onward as they pumped their fists into the air during ‘Kryptonite.’ This track was 3 Doors Down’s first single, and was the reason for their rise to international fame. It was clear by the deliverance that the track will always be cherished by the band, and their supporters alike. There have been many ups and downs over the years, but one thing has remained untouched: the everlasting bond between 3 Doors Down and their fans. It has been 20 years since Away From The Sun was released, but the Indianapolis show made it evident all the memories created will carry on. Long live rock n’ roll, and long live 3 Doors Down.
