Daniel Seavey

“My name is Daniel Seavey, and I'm so happy to be here.” Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Daniel Seavey had the crowd in Indianapolis dancing in the dark throughout his set. The rock / alternative-pop tracks sent the amphitheater into a frenzy, and the energy level shattered the roof. Daniel’s ability to successfully maintain engagement with the crowd from beginning to end was remarkable, and it was obvious he cherished every single moment.
Daniel made his entrance with ‘Can We Pretend That We’re Good?,’ and shredded a guitar solo like it was nobody’s business. He stood on the barricade, and rapped the second verse of ‘Runaway’ as fans were jumping at a rapid pace. Later on in the evening, the intense drum intro of ‘Fallin’ by Why Don’t We rang through the speakers increasing the excitement in the air. The crowd went down memory lane, and the experience was certainly bittersweet. Daniel’s unreleased track ‘Gateway Drug’ had an indie-rock feel to it, and his polished vocals had us feeling on top of the world.
Aside from the tracks with heavy instrumentation and compelling lyricism, Daniel wore his heart on his sleeve during the ballad ‘I Tried.’ He dedicated it to a fan before strumming the intro notes on the acoustic guitar. “I won’t toss or turn, I won’t let it burn // ‘Cause I’ll know I tried my best,” sang Daniel. His heartfelt tone had the crowd hanging on to every word, and concluding the song with the electric cello quickly brought tears to the eyes of many. Daniel had a surprise planned, and introduced a fan by the name of Kaelynn who performed ‘Other People’ with him. As a fellow singer, Kaelynn had the experience of a lifetime as she performed on stage for the very first time with one of her favorite artists. This is only one example of Daniel’s exceptionally kind and compassionate nature that we all know and love.
Daniel ended his set with ‘The Older You Get,’ and the crowd was far from prepared for the profound performance. “This song means the world to me. It’s about getting older, and the good and bad that comes with that…There’s a light at the end of the tunnel,” shares Daniel. The track was so well done it felt as if you were experiencing the specific events right alongside Daniel. It also made you take a closer look at your own life with the gentle reminder to not take anything for granted. Daniel blew a kiss and bowed before leaving the stage, and the crowd was sad to see him go. There is one thing for sure: nothing compares to Daniel Seavey.
