Good Neighbours

British duo Good Neighbours made a stop in Phoenix, AZ on Sunday, September 15, and brought their world tour to a packed Last Exit Live. The performance was their first ever in the Valley of the Sun, and was the last stop of the US leg of their world tour. The duo, consisting of Oli Fox and Scott Verill, has been experiencing major success globally in the short time they have been making music together. Their hit song ‘Home’ has amassed over 270 million global streams.

Fans were eagerly anticipating the show as they lined up an hour before doors, and hoped for a chance to experience the show from the barricade. By the time doors opened, the line was wrapped around the building. Fans took their spots, and shortly thereafter were greeted by indie-pop singer-songwriter Ber who warmed up the crowd with relatable tunes that instantly won everyone over.

The ‘Mr. Rogers’ theme song played as Good Neighbours took the stage. The duo opened the set with ‘Keep It Up,’ a track off of their upcoming Good Neighbours- EP, which had the crowd vibing and instantly set the tone for their hour long set. Oli announced to the crowd they would be “playing a bunch of songs you’ve never heard before.” The unfamiliar tracks were well received by fans who threw their hands in the air, and danced along to every song despite not knowing the words. Oli and Scott both had a charismatic stage presence, and their energy was infectious. They had good engagement with the crowd throughout their set, and took time between songs to provide some context for each one. They taught the crowd lyrics to the chorus of select songs so that they could sing along.

The setlist consisted of songs already released off of their upcoming debut EP, unreleased songs, and a cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso.’ The duo ended their set with their hits ‘Home’ and ‘Daisies,’ and an epic drum battle between Oli and their touring drummer. Friends had their arms around each other, jumping and dancing as the set ended. Fans chanted, “One more song!” as they exited the stage. The only disappointment of the evening was the duo did not return for an encore performance. Fans were buzzing as they left the venue, and could be heard exclaiming what an amazing show they just experienced with excitement for what’s to come.

There is no doubt the future is bright for Good Neighbours. Although this show marked the end of the US leg of their tour, fans can catch Good Neighbours on the UK and EU legs of the tour through the end of October. Their upcoming self-titled debut EP is set to drop on October 4th.
