MAX

Article by Brittany Ormiston

MAX blew the roof off of The Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio with his impressive dance moves, killer vocal range, and ability to keep the crowd fully engaged throughout the set. His sequined pink shirt sparkled in the spotlights as he quickly spun around and flipped his microphone. “We’re alive tonight Columbus. I like it!” shouted MAX. The crowd joined in during a little sing-a-long of ‘Someday’ from the movie Rags. MAX played the lead role in the film, and countless fans were holding up signs showing their love. He had an incredible amount of power behind his voice leading to jaws dropping around the arena. Now it was the crowd’s turn to show off. “Keep me satisfied!” the crowd yelled in unison. MAX and his band members synchronized their dance moves, amping the crowd up even further during ‘Satisfied’.

The most heart-touching moment of the evening was during ‘Lights Down Low’ when countless phone flashlights were being swayed in the air in every section of the arena. This song is incredibly special to MAX as he wrote the ballad for his then-girlfriend, Emily, when he asked her to marry him. His voice control throughout the track was ethereal making it all even more special. As the end neared, the instrumentals ceased and all that could be heard was the voices of MAX and the crowd sharing an unforgettable experience. He held up a hand heart with tears in his eyes as the crowd cheered him on. “You make my dreams come true every single night,” Max said softly. The set ended with a high-energy performance of ‘Mugshot’ with new and old fans alike bouncing their hands in rhythm with the beat. MAX is an unbelievable performer who grabs the attention of the crowd without missing a beat. His energy is infectious, and has you putting on your dancing shoes and seeing the world in colour vision.
