The newest release from alt/pop artist DBMK, ‘Chains’, will take you by surprise at first listen. The track begins with smooth vocals accompanied by the strumming of a guitar putting you in a trance. The beat drop is infectious and straps you in for the rollercoaster ride of emotion the rest of the song will take you on. The chill-worthy pre-chorus lyric, “What’s up with my ego lately? It’s evil and crazy.” is one that is especially relatable in these crazy times, and makes us all feel a little less alone.

‘Chains’ offers a wave of optimism and a light at the end of the tunnel. “It can’t just go wrong all the time. If the world’s gonna bend then just let it.” is a gentle reminder to let it be, and provides encouragement to keep going despite any bumps in the road. DBMK ends the track with a captivating outro making you want to press the repeat button time and time again.
