JORDY

Article by Brittany Ormiston

“You guys are beautiful and energetic,” gleamed JORDY as he admired the crowd and cherished every moment. JORDY’s first time performing in Indianapolis was nothing short of extraordinary. From the second he stepped onto the stage, the crowd matched his bubbly, golden retriever energy and carefree spirit. His impeccable vocals and killer dance moves instantly made him a fan-favorite. With each twirl across the stage, JORDY stole the hearts of everyone in the crowd and brightened their day.

The room was filled with smiles and rushes of serotonin as JORDY made his mark. Witnessing him build life-long connections with individuals from all walks of life was incredibly special. JORDY is a safe haven for anyone he crosses paths with, and he does not hesitate to use his voice and platform to protect those he loves. His empathy, sincerity, and comforting aura makes one feel right at home. Before performing ‘Story of a Boy,’ JORDY eagerly showed his support for the trans community. He described a current trend on TikTok where trans individuals are documenting their transition while using the sound associated with this track. JORDY has dueted several videos, and continues to promote a world of self-acceptance and self-love. “You are safe here,” declared JORDY as the crowd responded with loud cheers.

The LED rainbow heart outlining JORDY’s name and placed center stage was a reminder that everyone is free to be whoever they want to be. The setlist and JORDY’s discography in general exemplifies this mentality as well. “I like to write songs about how I'm an emotional mess, and boys that break my heart,” JORDY admitted. His performance of ‘Love You and Let You Go’ connected with concert-goers on such a deep, emotional level that it seemed as if they were going through the heartbreak with JORDY all over again. He bounced back from sad boy hours with ‘IDK SH!T’ and an unforgettable cover of ‘Come Clean’ by Hilary Duff. Everyone was transported back to 2003, and pretended to dance in the rain to this classic track. The cherry on top was JORDY teasing the crowd with an unreleased song ‘Good Not Great’ from his new album BOY out April 21st. After catching a glimpse of his new body of work, it is clear no one is emotionally prepared to hear all 12 tracks.

With the new album and beyond, JORDY will continue to reach for the stars while lifting up those around him. He is someone who will always acknowledge topics most are too afraid to speak of, and ensure everyone feels validated. He will fight for what he believes in, and never veer away from his true self. The ever-growing community surrounding JORDY is inspired now more than ever, and is here to stay. JORDY is everyone’s best friend and queer rockstar all wrapped into one, and he is about to take over the world.
