Ryan Beatty

Tour Preview by Brittany Ormiston

Singer/songwriter Ryan Beatty has quickly become a household name, especially after his album release Calico in April 2023. Riding high off of the success of this body of work and new era, Ryan has embarked on a headlining tour across North America. This 20-show run began in Austin, TX on February 15th, and will wrap up in Los Angeles, CA on March 15th. Ryan is taking his art to the grand stages of several festivals throughout June, including The Governors Ball in NYC and Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN.

Calico has been acclaimed as one of the best albums of 2023. It was selected for the #4 spot by The LA Times, added to countless best music lists (hi, Rolling Stone), and received praise from icons such as Elton John, Lizzy McAlpine, and Zane Lowe. Ryan performed “Ribbons” for his late-night debut with Seth Meyers, and the positive response from the audience was very well deserved. The remarkable talent and vocal control Ryan displays in the live versions of "White Teeth" and "Bruises Off The Peach" have garnered a great deal of attention. Supporters were not afraid to be vulnerable in the videos’ comments as they wrote about Ryan’s music altering their lives in unimaginable ways. Many were begging Ryan to record and release all the tracks from Calico as live performances.

Until Ryan makes that request a reality, he is going beyond the walls of the studio and stepping onto the stage to “hold the mic to his heart” every night on the calico tour. This tour may have just started a few days ago, but it is clear these live performances are going to be one for the books. As Ryan stated in his interview with DUST Magazine, “I just want my music to lead and drive everything; I just want to let it happen.” As Ryan’s music guides him, his timeless records will continue to shape those who listen.
