Caroline Romano

Single review by Brittany Ormiston

Caroline Romano is a Nashville-based alt-pop artist and songwriter who is turning heads with her new single ‘Panic Attack.’ This release is a special one as it sends listeners to the vulnerable place in time when Caroline experienced one of the most devastating panic attacks of her life. The first verse includes the lyric ‘am I ever going to be okay?’ as Caroline is in the midst of a panic attack not knowing how to get out. As the song progresses, she slowly turns a corner and by the bridge she hears a sound like ‘a violin in the night,’ which gives her a glimmer of hope. The track ends with ‘I think I’m gonna be okay’ as a reminder to herself and all listeners that we are all going to be okay despite our struggles. Ironically, the tender strumming of the acoustic guitar and the eloquent sound of a violin accompanied by soft, pain-filled vocals creates an overall calming effect. ‘Panic Attack’ has the ability to soothe wounds from battles with mental health, and will continuously be a crutch for those who suffer in silence.
